Who We Are

Yaqs-Venture Foot Tech is a proudly Nigerian footwear and leather goods manufacturing company with a mission to set a new benchmark in leather production and training. Our products range from military and casual shoes to sandals, bags, belts, wallets, and other leather accessories. More than just a business, we are a center for skills empowerment, nurturing youth and women through competency-based training in leather works.

Our goal? To build a generation of self-reliant, highly-skilled artisans ready to shape the future of Nigeria's leather industry.

Meet the Founder – Yaqub Nasirudeen

From humble beginnings in senior secondary school (SS1) between 1993 and 1995, Yaqub Nasirudeen discovered his gift in footwear production and repairs. He honed this skill under his Master Craft Person (MCP) until 1999 before advancing his knowledge at the Federal College of Chemical and Leather Technology (CHELTECH), Zaria — now known as NILEST.

During his time at CHELTECH, he excelled in pattern creation and finishing of leather goods, laying the foundation for a competitive edge that would eventually set him apart.

Over the years, Mr. Yaqub has trained hundreds of youths and women, notably through the MAFITA program—a UKAID, DfID, and Adam Smith International initiative aimed at empowering over 5,000 Nigerian youth across Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, and Jigawa states.

Milestones and Achievements

  • President, Arewa Footwear and Leather Manufacturers Association (AFLEMA) since 2018

  • Led MAFITA’s Kaduna State leather works program, training over 700 youths and women

  • Chaired the Apprenticeship Management Committee (AMC) and Gender and Business (GAB) initiatives under MAFITA

  • Played a key role in the National Leather Products Implementation Policy, launched by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in 2021

  • Appointed Master Trainer for the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) training program across 6 states: Kaduna, Edo, Katsina, Gombe, Benue, and Kogi

Through these milestones, Yaqub has proven his unwavering commitment to youth development and national economic transformation through vocational skills.
